For example, you should not begin a new task in Rikta, you should not carry out Mangalik tasks in Amawasya etc. You should not make any new plans or begin any tasks when a planet is interchanging signs with another planet. You should never begin a new task when a planet is weak, the Lord of the birth sign or birth nakshatra is weak, retrograde, or between enemy planets.
